Hood UMC is participating in a
Scrip fundraising program. What is Scrip?
Scrip is just substitute money. If you are familiar with "gift cards" you
know what Scrip is! Currently, funds raised are earmarked for Church camp, but
the possibilities are endless!
Hood UMC orders shopping cards and gift certificates from a clearinghouse on
behalf of members who place orders. Members pay full value for the cards and
Hood orders them at a discount. It's that simple. There are many retailers,
restaurants, on-line merchants and service companies to choose from. Many of
these merchants are businesses that you are already buying from. For
example: If you are planning on purchasing items from a building materials
store for a remodeling project, just buy the shopping cards from Hood in
advance and Hood keeps 4% (the percentage varies from retailer to retailer).
There are many participating merchants. Just pick up an order form at Church.
